The Iron Ascent

i wake up, in a prison cell. the door unlocked, and my weapon right by my side.

i walk up the stairs, to find a shitty dining room, with a wooden goblin, setting the table. upon seeing me it doesn't hesiatet and throws itself on me.

i dodge out of the way, the goblin stumbling. I use this opportunity to slash it with my long sword, and it loses a limb, only to fall down the stairs.

i move on.

A ruined alchemy lab awaits me. once filled with different solvents and poltrices. An obsidian puppet sits in the corner, as if waiting for someone like me to approach.

I step closer, wanting to pierce it, but it suspected as much, but before it could doge away, i cut it. it tried to flail away, but just hurt itself more and fell apart. Now scattered on the floor.

The next room awaits, I can feel getting closer.

A ruined Puppet Workshop comes next, I wonder if the puppet came from here. I look around, searching for the exit. But instead I see a Crystasl Homunculi tending to some unfinished puppet. It sees me.

The homuculi drops its tools ton get its weapon, a mistake. I get to it first, and cut off its limbds, now broken. Now unmoving. I grip my longsword in my hand, ready for the next enemy to encounter.

But instea I find myself in a shitty library, filled with books that I can't reach, with no ladders in sight. I dust off a shelf, bringing myself to cough and not noticing the woden goblin approaching. It had the perfect opportunity to attack, but it didn't. I pull out my longsword, but not in time to block the blow, but just in time to hit its shoulder. I pull at my sword, but its stuck in the wood of the goblin, giving the goblin ample opportunity to attack back. It pierces me with its sharp wodden claws, the light flashes in front of me, and I see the bras of the prison cell again.

I look around, being imprisoned in this cell and this... tower? I remember about being stuck, unable to leave. Unable to break out. Imprisoned in my own mind. I reach to my head, holding it steady. It doesn't feel right, why do I barely remember anything? Why did I suddenly get this memory? I stare at the floor, where my longsword lies, right beside my leg. My iron leg. My leg out of iron. My leg has become iron. Nothing else to do here, so I grab my longsword and start the journey a new.

I get out of the cell, up the stairs and enter a ruined empty room. It changed. Barely anything is here. Just a Marble Goblin, rushing towards me. We clash, my longsword against its harc claws, and I slide right off, not only getting hit by the Marble Goblin, but stumbling and hurting myself badly on my arm. I turn around to back swing towards the goblin, but the next thing that happens is a strong aching pain in my back, and I see the bars of the prison cell again. My arm, now iron. My arm that I use for my longsword, with which I defeated monsters before. Monsters commanded by the mage. Is this where I am? Near the mage?

I shake my head and repeat the process. I walk into a shity Reagant Closet, with an Elemental Chimera. This does not look good. Its several heads look at me, hungry. Saliva dripping from their mouths.

I run forward and push my longsword right into one of its mouths, killing it instantly, but leaving a dented bite mark behind on my iron arm.

I push forward, to a Shabby Dining Area, food scattered all around, many of it overed in mould. And a Obsidian Chimera munching on the food on the ground.

Another chimera.

I approach it with my longsword, hoping to get a quick kill, but as I swing down to strike it, it whips its tail against me, hitting my chest and I cough. At least it lost its tail. It spins to attack again, but I slice at one of its throats and it stumbles before keeling over.

I don't spend another second here, and walk into the third room, a Decent Library. Books are in good condition, and I walk through this maze of book shelves.

I step into something disgusting, and as I look down I see an Obsidian Slime. I stab it with my longsword from above, but the slime has a grip on me and starts to dissolve parts of me. I have to think quick, before it dissolves me next, but then I see the bars of the prison cells again and I remember my purpose. I was.. am? a follower of the Goddess of Iron, and I got imprisoned in here by the Mage. She gave me her blessing to defeat the mage, slowly becoming Iron on ech failure.

Now both arms and one leg covered in iron, I have to continue my mission.

I walk into a well Maintained Alchemy Labs, ingredients neatly placed o sheves and containers, and another Obsidian Chimera is sleeping in the corner. I walk towards it, but it wakes up and as I swing my longsword, it claws at my leg. We clash again, with the Chimera now down and me covered in scars.

I turn towards the door, opening it and revealing a Runined Empty room. Cobwebs in every corner. A Crystal Slime dead center in the room. I slice it, making it two slimes and both attacking me. I try to attack one of them, only for the other one to attack me and I see the bars of my prison cell again.

Now my other leg is covered in iron, and I remember the love I used to have for fighting for the good. FIghting against the evil, but now I feel stuck in a loop, tortured by both the Goddess and the Mage. There is no escape.

In Ruined Dining Area, I fight against a Crystal Slime. Is itthe one from before? We fight and fight again, for it to lose and for me to get hurt.

In the second room, a Maintained Reagent Closet, an Elemental Puppet attacks me from the corner, but I could cut down its limbs and it only left a small dent in my iron.

The third room, another Shabby Empty Room, holds nothing but an Obsidian Golem. It's huge, but to my smaller statue I was able to dodge its attack, and slicing at one of its legs. It went down to its knee, and trying to slam me. It hit me pretty badly, but I also managed to hit an important vein and it keels over.

Already exhausted, I go into a Shabby Alchemy Lab, with a Crystal Chimera. Why are there so many Chimeras here? We clash, but ultimately my longsword managed to kill it off.

I feel pain everywhere on my body. I go to the fourth room, a Grand Alchemy Lab this time. And a Elemental Slime hiding between the floor boards. I pierce it through the boards and it dissolves.

As I walk into the fifth room, a Maintained Puppet Workshop, and a Marble Goblin building a puppet, I rush toward it, but the Goblin had weapons at hand to thro at me, and then I see my bars of my prison cell, all my limbs consumed by iron and my head starting to feel heavier and heavier. I look into a puddle, and I see my head turn into iron before everything turns dark and--
